Attwater Books is a small publishing house in the Netherlands. Marcus Attwater set out on his self-publishing adventure with The Chapter of St Cloud in 2013. He then spent five years researching and writing a non-fiction project, resulting in the international publication of Straightforward in 2019. This was followed by several fiction titles, and in 2020 Attwater Books published the first of Rens Tienstra’s books on Gregorian Chant. In 2023 the historical romances of Ally Hastings were added to the list.

Attwater Books strives to bring its books from writer to readers with as few steps as possible in between. It is all about the story, not about author-reader interaction or creating social media buzz. All Attwater Books titles are published as epub and/or print-on-demand paperback – books are only created when readers want them.

Internationally, ebooks are sold through Amazon Kindle and Kobo and affiliated sellers, and print books can be ordered through Amazon or your local bookshop.

Readers in the Netherlands can buy straight from the publisher (trading under the name Armchair Travel) through bol.com and boekwinkeltjes.nl
